Hi everybody,
On the website, the minimum requirement for CEP is : The Clean Energy Project 128 MB 100 MB Windows1, Mac2, Linux3 128 Mo of Ram. But one of our member has this return from WCG servers : 07/05/2009 14:37:59|World Community Grid|Fetching scheduler list 07/05/2009 14:38:04|World Community Grid|Master file download succeeded 07/05/2009 14:38:10|World Community Grid|Sending scheduler request: To fetch work. Requesting 43200 seconds of work, reporting 0 completed tasks 07/05/2009 14:38:15|World Community Grid|Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks 07/05/2009 14:38:15|World Community Grid|Message from server: No work sent 07/05/2009 14:38:15|World Community Grid|Message from server: The Clean Energy Project needs 320.00 MB RAM but only 254.98 MB is available for use. 07/05/2009 14:38:15|World Community Grid|Message from server: No work available for the applications you have selected. Please check your settings on the website. I think, the minimum requirement wrote on the Website for CEP was for Type A of Project, but I'm not sure. Thanks for your help. |

Curious... thought the RAM use was not too big. My matrix had 55mb ram top, but 440mb VM. Is swapfile limited for the client in question?

The latest batch of Type B units are using 200mb of memory ... they're giving my 512mb Windows box a real workout.

We have updated the systems requirements page to state that the memory requirement is 430MB.
The 'hard' limit for memory required is 320MB. However, the default profile for the device only allows 50% of memory to be used while the computer is in use and 75% of memory while the computer is idle. This equates to 320MB/.5 = 640MB required while in use and 320MB/.5 = 426.7 MB while the computer is idle. Computers can retrieve work based on meeting the 'idle' memory requirement. It just won't run while their computer is in use. |

If so will it limit to running just on one core if there is insufficient memory, or will it stop both WUs? |

Downloading results only checks single core requirements. Running jobs concurrently requires the multiplication, though on the RAM use, BOINC only looks at the actual combined use of all loaded science tasks.
