Re: Daily quota?

How many cores has this beast? I read yesterday that the overall "per processor" quota was 80 at this time. knreed manages this quite tightly so as to prevent big cycling when things go awry, so it seems with present power and task durations the number needs elevating.

How to temporarily fix this: Well, uninstall BOINC, delete all control files, reinstall, which should force the creation of a new device.

But, is you cache empty and if not, would the work last till tomorrow to get you your next quotum?

Edit 2x spelling + italics.

Re: Daily quota?

80 jobs per processor per day means 18 mn per job.
I doubt that we have such beasts around.
With the current average size of jobs in WCG 80 is more probably at least 7 or 8 days of work for the fastest processors.

You need to give us more details about your device and what you are trying to do if you don't want that your request be taken simply as a joke.

Cheers. Jean.

PS: We have nothing against jokes as long as it is clear that they are jokes. smile

Re: Daily quota?

6,000 is half of the FLU project that got validated yesterday.

Assuming a dual Nehalem with hyperthreading enabled has 16 threads, that's 5 per core-thread per day. Not sure such a machine could run dry. Think Movieman runs such a monster and he's not come to ask for more, yet.

Anyway, it read as were there either cycling or serious buffer stocking going on.

Re: Daily quota?

@Sekerob
Unless something is going wrong in Boinc the daily quota for the 16-thread you describe is 16*80=1680 jobs per day and the current per core quota is still much sufficient in WCG.
@ultimaThule
If there are confidentiality reasons which forbid you to answer directly in this thread you can use the Contact Us link available at the bottom of each screen except the forum ones. If you emphasize that some of the info you are providing them is confidential you can be sure they will handle it with the appropriate precautions. WCG/IBM does not joke with confidentiality.

Cheers. Jean.

Re: Daily quota?

ultimaThule,

You have a hundreds of 'client detached' results which is why it is reporting that you have reached your daily limit. Are you copying your installation onto many computers?

nkreed,

nope... Installation of Boinc has always been fresh one, I have manually attach then to WCG one by one.
This is not caused by number of client, if you take a look my statics, I have creted five time bigger numbers previously.
