Oooo....perfect timing. Boinc just updated and I just passed one million credits for WCG alone. Passed it a while back for all projects but doing it for WCG is special.
----------------------------------------BTW, it was an HCMD2 WU that put me over. |

Someone mentioned they and snakes have a mutual understanding. For some odd reason, I cannot stand snakes. They scare the bejesus out of me. If I was to meet a snake, I would probably ask my two friends, Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson to help me understand why the snake chooses not to like me. Dr. Mike, who doesn't like spiders either.. Doc. I fully agree with you when it comes to the poisonous varieties. Non-poisonous snakes have a bad rap. Like most any animal, we get into trouble with them when they feel threatened. Back in orehistoric times, someone brought a bunch of snakes in to my high school biology class. Corn snakes and such. I somehow ended up with one snake coiled around my left forearm, another around my right and one draped across my shoulders. No they weren't slimy. They did feel cool to the touch and that combined with the "slickness" of their scales is what probably accounts for that. Couldn't really move much, not because of the snakes, but because no one wanted me to get near them. Now spiders are different. There is just something about the tactile sensations of eight legs on your skin that is particularly challenging. Try it with a grandaddy-long-legs sometime. |

Was Dave always a CA? I never noticed that? ![]() My recollection is that he is one of the originals. The original 4 CA's were Lawrencehardin, David Autumns, Dave Bell and me. Dave Autumns requested his be removed and mine 'disappeared" after I stopped crunching for a year and a half (and that was perfectly OK with me). Lawrence and Dave B. are stilll at it. JMBollier was the last one added. Sekerob started the FAQ threads. It is not as "fun" as you might think. Answering questions like, "Do I have to have a computer to participate?" or "How do I set up my computer to crunch while it is powered off?" get mind numbingly boring in a short time. I don't have the personality to do it day-in and day-out. EDIT: <<<<< Gold An dat's da facts, ... ![]() Actually, he original 4 CA's were Lawrencehardin, David Autumns, Dataman and RT. Avery short time afterwards, Graham and I were brought on board. After Dataman left, Stares joined us. For a very long time, the only CA's were on MyOnlineTeam, mostly because we were all drawn together by our interests. This caused a lot of trouble back about 3 years ago, partly because we were called Community Administrators which made it look like we had censorship and other powers which we did not. We even changed our names on the forums (I was Lewis Carroll) to disassociate ourselves from our team. That didn't work too long. For a short period, we were given authority to lock threads, but only for a very short time. Later, Retsof, Sekerob, Didactylos and JmBoullier joined our ranks. |

I have a 1 ½ year break in my memory while I did not crunch. I left because I had a skiing accident which “knocked me out” (pun intended) for some time (I hit a tree … the tree did not fall down … I did). I didn’t return mostly because I really disliked the UD software. Actually “disliked” is much too mild a word but if I used a more precise one, CIH or Tedi would edit me. I just drifted away. BOINC brought me back to the DC world. I first joined MOT because Dave and Lawrence were here as I have great respect for both of them. ![]() ![]() |

Thanks for the reminder. I've signed us up for a few. If you see one you're particularly interested in, just let me know. |

I finally got my electric bill. It was $662!
---------------------------------------- I knew it was going to be a little bit more, but not that much!I decided to read my meter, and they did misread it. They were off by a 1Kwatts. They read it as a 9 and it was really an 8. I called SCE and they fixed my bill. So now my bill should only be about $450 It is usually around $250. With the pool and the swamp cooler running it goes up a bit. I am really hoping, though, that these video cards aren't going to cost me over $100 a month in electricity!
