OMG, people not on this team read this forum?!?!?! How bored are they? We should endeavour to be more witty for our audience. You'd be surprised who all reads our thread. I continue to be surprised. It keeps me mindful of the example we are and need to be. It is also a great opportunity. |

OMG, people not on this team read this forum?!?!?! How bored are they? We should endeavour to be more witty for our audience. We are the leading edge of crunching Hey Mary, Sorry that I woke up D in the other thread. I liked arguing with him and he was quiet for too long. He's too stuck on himself, though, and I find pleasure in not letting him get away with that. He's been spying on me. So he will probably read this post, too. I'm not calling him any names, though! Don't want to break any of his precious rules! So, how does one become a CA around here? I see that I'm a senior cruncher now. Not sure if I like that title (or not). I don't want to be a CA to threaten him (as he has done to me). I can get him kicked out of there without being a CA. But it would be nice to be on equal footing with him. How does one need to prove themselves worthy of that title?

So, how does one become a CA around here?...How does one need to prove themselves worthy of that title? What is a Community Advisor? World Community Grid has a great group of Community Advisors ready to help answer any question you might have. A Community Advisor is a member who has been identified by World Community Grid as someone who has provided significant assistance to other members in the forums. The title "Community Advisor" has been given to distinguish them in the forums. The role of the Community Advisors is to provide guidance to and answer questions for other World Community Grid members, and to bring any issues or problems that arise in the forums to the attention of the World Community Grid support team. Community Advisors also have the ability to post in the Start Here: Community-Maintained FAQs. Community Advisors are not employees of World Community Grid but have volunteered to help in this role and also have to follow the forum rules. Basically, you are seen helping others in the forums over time and the staff invites you. Note that there are only 7 of us (and 4 retired, I think). I want to be a CA. This has nothing to do with D, but now I have an interest. This is what I do for a living and I'm very good at it! Solving problems, that is! ![]()

How does one need to prove themselves worthy of that title? You help users solve problems. You do so impartially. You hold yourself to a higher standard as what you say and do reflects on WCG, its reputation and its future. You are cognizant of the tremendous challenge of communicating effectively in the limited means of the written word only, aware that cultural differences can result in your message being grossly misinterpreted from its intended meaning. You accept responsibility for your actions, strive for the high road and assume the better, not the worst. You do not seek the title. You do not poke a stick at a rattling western diamondback. |

Jonathan,
You remember that essay I had you read for University of Penn? My friend got in. He told me to tell you thanks. ![]() |
