I have been crunching HFCC for almost two months. As has been noted elsewhere the WU completion times have been getting longer. However they have been completing after 12 to 18 hours, and my cpu is not the fastest. This situation was no problem.
However this last WU got to 88% completion at 14.5 cpu hours, but then jumped back to 0% completion and a 90 hours estimated time to completion! It has started running at high priority, but it has no chance of completion prior to the deadline. Unless someone can give me a reason not to do so I plan to abort this WU within the next few days.I will give it some time in case it just jumps to completion. |

Results don't jump back to from 88% to 0% unless there was an event on the device, so if you visit the various client and task logs I'd expect it to tell something. The job returning to zero % and 14.5 hours elapsed time is bound to inflate the TTC. As it got to 88% in 14.5 hours, expect it to get there again in about the same time... long before deadline, that is, if the job is not sitting in a cache that is too big.

Thanks! That appears to be the problem. The The WU is heading to completion four or five times faster than real clock time would allow.
