I have my mouse set to put the pointer automatically to the default position in a dialogue box. It worked fine in IE7 but does not work in IE8 - any ideas?

I think the 'Snap To' action is a function of the mouse driver. Have you checked for updates to that? I have only 1 machine (XP Pro) with IE8 so far... I like it - it's fast and has lots of nice AddOns... I had to switch from using a black background color (on the Desktop tab of Display Properties) to get rid of its blacked out toolbars though. But I just checked - the Snap To is working correctly on it whether IE8 is open or not. Microsoft intellimouse. |

Just give a link to a page or steps through the IE8 internet options where your "snap to" is not working, for it works for me on IE8/Vista with Logitech Setpoint 4.72.3.
----------------------------------------Personally I think it utterly tiresome to open up a screen where the pointer is popping to the OK with this function and not to the first field to do input. That feature needs serious revision imo.

Cannot give a link as it is on my mail pages when I ask to delete the message, it asks if I am sure YES/No. In IE7 it snaps to YES.....in IE8/Firefox/Chrome it does not.

Something changed between the morning and afternoon post:

I only use IE, the others I loaded to check. It has always worked until I loaded IE8, then it stopped. Reverting back to IE7 it started to work again, to IE8 - stopped, back to IE7 worked......

Scribe, it's a mouse driver hack. Obviously something has changed that stops the hack working.

If it is a 'hack' why is it shown in Control Panel (mouse) as one of the options you can set for your mouse -- provided by the vista supplied software?
