For the Preferences you have to check the box "When computer is in use" under the "Processor usage" tab. ("Lorsque l'ordinateur est utilisé" dans la section "Utilisation du processeur").

But if you want Boinc to work 24/24 and 7/7 the definitive way to achieve it is to select "Activity->Always run" from the Advanced view ("Activité->Calculer en permanence" depuis la vue avancée).

Cheers. Jean.

Thanks a lot I'll try this way.

But,in fact I recently started a new unit (a netpc) and it seems that the lowest preferences apply to both units... SO I'm now sure that my two units are set in the same way. If it does'nt work I'll come back to you.

Thanks a lot

Re: suspendign computation when I want the program to work...

Legrandpiou,

I think you are on the website device profile "Power Saving", which has an option not found on the client local preferences. It detects INaction of mouse and keyboard and by default stops BOINC computing after 20 minutes to allow the computer to go to sleep. An other solution is thus to switch pre-set profile or do a custom change, and untick the mouse/keyboard option "Stop work when computer is idle for ... minutes"

See FAQ for detail on presets/profiles: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=17033

If they use the same profile (e.g. Default) the latest changes intended for one apply to the other one as well.
But if you want them to behave differently (different choice of projects, different activity settings, etc...) you just need to set one of the three other profiles differently and to affect it to the device you want.

Cheers. Jean.
