Yes, it will work perfectly. All you need to do is install the software on your new computer.
On your new computer, sign in to the site, then click here: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/reg/ms/viewDownloadAgain.do |

And regarding work in progress in the old machine you will have to complete it there or to forget it. Your new machine will be a new device (under your same member name) and it is not possible to transfer WUs from a device to an other one.
----------------------------------------If you choose to finish the work in the old machine, from the Advanced view select the Project tab, select WCG in the list and click the "No new work" button. To speed up this "end of device" process without losing any work in progress you may abort all queued WUs which have not yet started. Cheers. Jean. |

Transferring the work is doable, done it, but not with BOINC 6 yet.
----------------------------------------Fetch the BOINC software, take the computer off the internet and install same as old computer. Do not try to attach to any project. Exit BOINC and make sure service is not running. Then, copy everything from the old computer's BOINC data directory (see message log for data dir location) and it's subdirectories, slots and all over to the new computer's directory. Overwrite whatever is there. Start BOINC and make sure it runs. Connect to internet and do an Update in BOINC to force communication with WCG. Straight cloning is bound to lead to issues, so don't just copy the program directory. Do not swear if it does not work. There's a chance WCG servers will say that the work was not issued to that device and causing it to get ditched.
