I'm sure this has been asked before but I can't find the answer. I'm running Ubuntu and I want the BOINC client to start and run in the background as soon as I start the machine. As it is I have to open a command line and run it in the foreground.
I've tried adding it to /etc/rc.local but that didn't work. Any pointers please. Thanks |

If you install boinc from the repository it will start automatically.
#apt-get install boinc-client boinc-manager |

Perfect - I knew there had to be an easy answer but I'm a bit of an Ubuntu n00b. Many thanks.
