I have a member of our team that has set up an automated process to do a weekly stats report for our team using Excel and he's encountered a glitch he's certain originates here at WCG.
----------------------------------------The data for the last four members or our team seems to have somehow gone weird for the last couple of weeks. Would it be possible to please have someone take a look when time permits? Thank you kindly..........LoneWolf PC Help Forum WCG Team. http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/team/viewTe...nts&teamId=TW5XW7PWT1 PS: At a glance everything looks fine but when the data for each member is pulled the last four do not render the same as the rest of the team. Got a team link for us to see the problematic page? Yes I put it in the first post above. I'm going to email my team mate to look in on this thread as I'm not Excel savvy and as I mentioned the team data looks fine at a glance on the team page but it's when the individual member's data is taken and put into the spreadsheet the last four are off and they were fine before. Thanks Sekerob. |

Ah Winkie, a 37 possible ingredient American Culture Cake that can include some grit ;>)
----------------------------------------Well I set up a quick weblink query to my office excel 2007 and it looks as healthy as anything. http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/team/viewTe...amp;numRecordsPerPage=100 The last six, with the usual extra column spacing looks straight copied from the spreadsheet as:
Thus not sure what the problem might be. Your teammate might wanna copy paste what he's pulling off.

The team member LoneWold was referring to is me.
----------------------------------------![]() http://cid-3e0cb05bc21ed558.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/TSG/StatReport.jpg I have tried to post an image of the Excel display of our WCG sheet, but Preview does not let me see the image so I have also posted the URL in case you can not see the image either. You can see from the spreadsheet that the last four members on the list are not shown in the same fashion across the data line as the members above them. Since the data is imported/refreshed automatically from the team's URL upon opening the application, any existing cell setup on that sheet would be overwritten by the action of opening the application. http://cid-3e0cb05bc21ed558.skydrive.live.com.../TSG/StatReport%20Old.jpg The above link will show a Stat Report from 3/1/09 (that is March first). You will see that the last three individuals are listed correctly. Therefore, somewhere in the last three weeks the WCG PCHF team's data for the last four members has become changed. The change in the data is not visiable until it is imported into an Excel spreadsheet. I will be monitoring this thread, so if anyone needs additional information, I will be happy to provide it if I can. Have a Great Sunday. ![]() ![]() O/S -LinuxMint 64-bit, Release 13 (maya). Sekerob does the above post give you any ideas as to what may be wrong?
----------------------------------------Just reading various threads around the place it appears to me recent upgrades have created quite a number of undesirable side effects. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Mar 23, 2009 9:40:12 PM] |

I've found a work-around. Thank for the help. I don't know enough about Excel's Web Query to know what or why this issue occurred. This weeks import should not have been different from last month's import other than the number of members. Increasing the number of members should not have affected the import data sheet.
----------------------------------------I'm just marking this down as another of God's little mysteries. You can close this thread as closed. ![]() ![]() O/S -LinuxMint 64-bit, Release 13 (maya). DE: Cinnamon |

@LoneWolf_PCHF, please edit Opening post title and insert [RESOLVED], so all know the case is closed.
----------------------------------------@Gandalf_PCHF, was looking at the screenshots. Did note your additional members, i.e. line shifting down. Is your import defined to overwrite the fields including formatting. It looks like the member names are with hyperlink. Certainly the query I set up does not pull member stats links. Anyway, good you found a workaround.
