Yes, I've had to use the compatibility option a couple of times but otherwise all seems well but I can't say that I notice it being any faster.

I use both Safari and IE8, Safari is much faster but, having the choice and the ease of use I usually go with IE,
the compatibility option works well and I too have only had to use it a few times!
