There was a similar thread about cep 6.25, but my 6.3 is doing the exact same thing. I read over that thread and saw that if you hit update it would kill the wu but i tried that and it did not do anything. Anyone know what the problem is, or what i should do? (intel proccesor)
Thanks |

Haha, of course as soon as I post this problem it restarts again, but this time it is actualy going somewhere. But this is still a bug that should be looked into, it wastes computer time even if it does start eventualy.

Do you mind posting what the exact same thing is. Update does not kill the work unit. Abort does, but before we'd like to understand the issue

Sorry, for not going into more detail. When i checked on my WUs I saw that the CEP beta project had 2 hours of run time and was at 0%, it then restarted so i posted on here. I am not sure if it had restarted before, it didnt say anything about it in my message log. However as my second post said, this time it is progressing.
About the update killing the project i found this when i was tyring to find the problem in existing discussions. As i said i have an intel proccesor, but i thought this may work. "We have just released an update that will cause the workunit to exit in error at this point rather then continually restart. We will continue to investigate why these workunits don't like AMD processors - but this will prevent computers from spending hours restarting every 20 minutes or so." |

CEP bug specific, now I understand the update part: It's a new version of the science software, but that will only be downloaded with new work units.
----------------------------------------If WCG had decided that a batch is bad, it can also set an auto-destruct to abort bad / redundant work. Soon as the client initiates contact, will the message go to the client and the result be aborted (conditionally).
