Haven't seen it posted anywhere else, but if I missed it, my bad.
Has anyone seen the approximate download/upload sizes for the HFCC workunits? |

Me neither, but I wrote some values down somewhere for later in The Matrix. The value I have not recorded was the one time science software. Given we're on the temporary shorts, not definitive on how the 6 hour mean tasks will size up.

I have blocked Network Activity in BoincMgr to see the set of files returned for a HFCC WU:
----------------------------------------4 files, 6.12 kB, 39.96 kB, 1.45 kB and 486 bytes. Not that much. And it was a long one, 2.5 times longer than the average, if that matters. On the download side I find either 10 files per WU, totalling 258 kB, or 13 files per WU totalling from 337 to 400 kB. Cheers. Jean. |

The batches of work after this will be split up into work units about 6 hours of runtime length. These batches will have the normal 9 days deadline as mentioned above. Here are the list of batches with 6 hour average runtime estimates: HFCC_0001* HFCC_0002* HFCC_t1_00* .....etc..... Thanks, -Uplinger My quad has started to crunch three of these normal 9-day WUs, and if one of those three should be in the average 6 hour scheme the two others have more a CEP type A profile for their projected runtime: 8 and 11 hours compared to 3.75 hours for a HCC in the same machine. And with about the same duration estimate setting as the 4-day WUs, so the Duration Correction Factor should jump to the sky once more when they finish. Cheers. Jean. |

Proof that one of the tasks was not properly cut in 3 hours blocks. I am not complaining, just making a point.

The project mean for the first 31,000 work units is 2.876 hours. Close enough. And yes, they are quite variable. Comes with the territory of non-deterministic computing.

I've only done a few of the short deadline jobs, which obviously jumped the queue and ran at high priority on my old quad with 32 bit XP.

Just going to take an assortment of HFCC, HCC and Rice at random for a wee while. |
