It's going faster than expected: Silver today, and probably gold tomorrow. Fun!

but sadly there are no goals to look forward to now it is nice to have something to shoot for. Well, you could always shoot for 1, 2, 3 years etc. - as, you just never know, at some point in the future, there may just be an even higher level badge than Gold... ![]() |

Yeehaa. Finally silver.
I donate 1 CPU year to every project and then I go back "my" HCC. I choose this project because of cancer in my family. So little more personal. But this HFCC is very interesting for me too because me and my wife would like to have a baby one day.. |

how do you guys get so many hours? ive only got 10 cores crunching 24/7 :( I think a lot of people run it on work machines. Perhaps a few sysadmins in the room? I used to run a lab of machines in my old job - a few years ago now and only slow single cores (hence lots of CPU time and low points). Just crunching at home now (1 dual-core, 1 old single-core P3 and a P4 with HT running 24/7, separate 2-core machine running ~50% CPU 75% of the time) |

hmm.. im one of the respected ex-IT students at my college.. we have just got a lot of new quad for machines and the quad core xeon terminal server.. maybe I could convince them to hook em up.. thats over 100 new computers just there.. they all run 24/7
----------------------------------------I spent a nasty 13 hour day setting all the new computers up :( [Edit 1 times, last edit by Nick-MMX at Mar 24, 2009 8:38:30 AM] |

At this moment I'm about 95 minutes short of Gold. One more update, and then I'll wait for the Beta badge (if I ever get it).
Being the owner of a company, and having some basic computer background helps to enlist multiple computers. With currently 15 available computers it helps getting a badge pretty fast although WCG has to share with some other Boinc projects. |
