Background:
Some possible related events - I had been running DDDT exclusively prior to switching to NRFTW exclusively. Also I upgraded to DSL from dial-up just after the switch from DDDT to NRFTW. I am also running and reporting results with Einstein@Home. No problems with Einstein@Home! Events 1st I couldn't get the first NRFTW completed WU to upload results, and I tried many things. Hitting retry now many times - shutting down and restarting BOINC - uninstalling and reinstalling BOINC - rebooting computer - deleting my dial-up connection from network connections. ----- some msgs---- 2/25/2009 12:09:05 PM|World Community Grid|[error] Error reported by file upload server: [R00309_d8b4f0dbbc81a998fab34a0175c99de9_01_001_17_0] locked by file_upload_handler PID=-1 ------------ 2nd My next action was to detach and reattached to WCG. I have not yet completed my first WU, but I aborted an extra WU and attempted to report it. This action was not successful! ---- some msgs---- 2/25/2009 9:03:37 PM|World Community Grid|Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. I may have to leave this problem alone for a week or so. |

ME AGAIN
I NEEDED TO POST AN UPDATE: My problem may already be corrected. While I was typing the original message BOINC reported my aborted WU. Since that was the only "problem" I experienced after reattaching to the project - everything may be working fine. Except for the message about a "database the server couldn't open. --- 2/25/2009 9:03:43 PM|World Community Grid|Message from server: Server can't open database ---- |

Hi stewjack!
----------------------------------------First I am glad that your communication problems have disappeared. Regarding the "Server can't open database" message it may happen from time to time, and maybe a little more often since one day or two as far as I could see in my own clients. You need not worry about it, it is usually a transient situation and when the client automatically retries the transaction later it usually gets through. Several reasons may cause these short hiccups like heavy load, generation of new batches of WUs, etc... Cheers. Jean. |
