Re: Whatever the Weather

Evening all

Yes it was a very warm day at Lord's yesterday, probably the best weather for me this season.

Lots of discussion before it was certain that the match would go ahead but common sense prevailed in the end and it was a pretty good match with some more excellent bowling from Pakistan.

By the time I got home, with the sun and more than a little wine, I soon dozed off in the armchair and then made my way to bed, so didn't check in here. Most remiss of me.

Very warm again today so spent some time in the garden, tidying up, continuing with the seasonal battle with the conker tree leaves and cutting the grass.

It seems as if one of the local cats managed to catch one of the sparrows that visits my bird feeder and had that for its evening meal , given the amount of feathers that were everywhere when I got home. crying

It's a great shame really and not what I intended. If all I am doing so fattening the birds up for the local cats, then it has made me wonder whether it is worth feeding them. Do you think it is still worth putting food out for the birds? confused

All's fine apart from that, although being stuck in an air conditioned office all day I don't get to see much of the weather, good or bad. sad

Re: Whatever the Weather

Mornin.....we have 3 cats and about 50 sparrows....plus tits, finches, blackbirds etc......maybe one of our cats catches one bird in a year.....usually still alive when we get it off her.

I spend something like £40 per month on sunflower hearts and have 2 of those feeders, and 4 peanut feeders, all suspended well above ground.....
