Re: THE EDWARDIANS - WHY NOT JOIN US AS THE QUEST CONTINUES -

Evening all

A very pleasant warm day for the monthly 'Village' gardening morning. Did some weeding, clearing up and cutting back brambles on one of the footpaths that the Council doesn't get round to.

Boss Lady, (she who must be obeyed) is off to a dinner on Friday to see how we ranked in the 'London in Bloom' inspection. Apparently, the invitation means that we have an award coming but whether it's better than a bronze one, we have to wait and see.

As for me, I'm up early tomorrow to get to Lord's in time to get a good seat and watch the second one day versus Australia. What should be simple is made complicated by working out which tube lines are going to be closed, or partially closed, over the weekend.

Re: THE EDWARDIANS - WHY NOT JOIN US AS THE QUEST CONTINUES -

morning everyone
more summer tedding sad

I hope your free of it Ivan and you get a full days cricket assuming your transport arrangements hold up.
Noted in yesterdays news that a rail company was unable to run trains today as they couldn't get any driver to work on a Sunday.
Apparently they only work Six day 40 odd hour weeks I guess on some sort of shift work , Sunday being a day on which they can choose not to work ?????
Weekend working is optional ?????
Victor Meldrew moment here " I don't believe it "
Bob Crow ( president of RMT )was on the Wireless last night saying

"this is not about money its about contractual obligations "
