Re: Re:

Not much wind to get underway here but then it's asphalt so not many ripples.

998 mb threats of gales with heavy rain................
yesterday was a really nice sunshine filled day all change today
***************
Listening to radio 4 "Today" about schools sixth forms .
the spokes person said it was good that so many schools had them .

This avoided pupils having to "Transition" when they reached sixth form age. Gawd help us we dont want pupils "Transitioning" all over the shop do we?

Where do these Education spokepeople get their jargon

Re: Re:

Sunshine now but it was somewhat damp earlier.

The missus has been busy ordering a new television having got fed up with the quirks of our present one and not happy with my promise to go down to our local supplier this weekend. It's best to know who's boss when it comes down to it.

Re: Re:

Welcome to the world of good quality vision Ivan. you will notice a vast improvement over your 405 line set also some increase in channels available with Freeview built in.
Having said that, quantity doesn't equal quality but at least you have more choice .I will be interested in your thoughts when all installed
Going into the local supplier for these things mostly confuses me banks of tellys all with the same programme I think as the features are all more or less the same its down to price or preferred manufacturer.
Marconi & Baird I believe no longer produce goggle boxes.
As Mrs Blanco has taken the helm & you know whose boss all should be fine, the other thing is the old TV disposal some firms are happy to remove The shame is getting rid of some thing that still works..........

Re: Re:

Damp and windy here for most of the day. In the meantime I am banned from touching the telly in case it upsets the thought of a new one coming.

Re: Re:

Visitors brought pleasant enough weather that we all had lunch in the garden of a local pub where a small puss demanded the most attention.
