problem with fightaids@home

hello,

i am runnic wcg for some time now but lately i seem to be running into some problems:
when the FightAIDS@home work units reach to 10% they reverse to 5% constantly. I have noticed the same problem on both pc's that i have.
I'm not quite sure if the problem exists on the other work units but i'm sure for fightaids@home.

Any help or suggestions would be welcomed!!!

Please will you start by copying the messages from BOINC Manager, and pasting them here? Thank you.

Re: problem with fightaids@home

I see you are using BOINC 6.4.5. We don't recommend this version, it has problems with the CPU scheduler.

Anyway: you have just started a FAAH task. Keep an eye on it, and report back.

Re: problem with fightaids@home

Similar to the other current thread wonder if this device is set to pause BOINC when in use coupled with the "leave application in memory ..." not being ticked?

Hello gfos!
When you say "constantly" is it a few minutes or much longer? FAAH WUs have an optimization phase at the beginning during which they are iterating as you describe.
Please have a look at these two posts from another thread and see if they describe what you are seeing:

Thanks Didactylos.
I'm going to keep on observing my FAAH messages and if such messages keep on happening, I'd appreciate your help and post them here again.

Re: problem with fightaids@home

What it seems to boil down to is that the result was reported, somehow a flag setting instruction by the server of successful transfer did not get set on the client and latter trying once more. Place to check is the result status page. Most probably the task sits there in Pending Validation or worst as Inconclusive awaiting a second opinion from another client, but it could be marked Valid already. I'd not spend time 'observing' for it might not happen again for a very long time.
