I was wondering why we dont have any desktop pictures to promote the world community grid. I thought it might be a good idea. Heres one I made using gimp. let me know what you think..

They should sponsor a contest to design a World Community Grid back ground Logo for the desktop say 1980x1020 or so. Come up with some requirements, rules, what it must represent.,etc and have it submitted electronically. We can all look at the preview images, vote and take a poll as to which graphic should be official. The person who wins could get a special graphic artist badge or something.
Nice image, it would be good free advertisement in the college setting, work or somewhere like that as a lot of people choose their own backgrounds. |

Good idea. Think though that a whole gallery of images would be nice and host them in an FAQ.
----------------------------------------Dug for some from 2006 by Graham, but they've gone south which is a pity for they were very. There are some wallpaper alternators around which for starters could use the 8 or 9 project science screen shots collected of the various projects. f.a.o. Uplinger, could you please repost those you had up some time ago for AfricanClimate. thanks

Not everyone will have the same preferences and shouldn't be forced to settle for an image they don't really care for. Also, variety and diversity is the spice of life so things don't get too boring and old too quick. |
