expected completion dates

Where can I find out how long a project is expected to last. The search feature does not seem to work. For example, I type in, " project completion date" and I get threads on issues with the CEP project. I even looked in the frequent questions forum.

One of the Community Advisors (Sekerob), has a link on his footer to a page within the forum [WCG Supplemental Performance and Project Charts]
http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=18277 and it's in there where you'll find loads of useful info - including the projected estimated end dates...

Re: expected completion dates

In the thread mentioned above by gb009761 each performance graph per project (graphs 6 to 13) shows an estimated progress in the bottom right corner.

Note that these figures are a best estimate by Sekerob: generally the total amount of work to do for an active project is not known precisely until they are finished. For some projects scientists have a rough estimate which is probably not too far from reality. For some others (e.g. FAAH) scientists periodically add new experiments based on what they have learned from what has already been processed and/or from their own works in the lab.

Cheers. Jean.

Re: expected completion dates

In the first graph, where is help conquer cancer? It looks like it was 100% in June of 08. Is it possible to have the HCC and the AC@H separated on the graph?

Re: expected completion dates

You must be reading it wrong. It does seem clear to me, but then I already know what status the graph is supposed to show. HCC is the big grey section.

Beta testing and ACH aren't shown properly because they have such low runtimes that they don't show up at all. ACH is the one that was complete in June 2008.

Re: expected completion dates

I see what you are saying. However, I read it this way:
The title info box reads, in order, HCC,AC@H, and then Beta. It appears the grey section includes all 3, not just HCC. The line from the grey section is broken into 3 fingers. I reasoned that the project info on each finger were written in the same order as the title info box, with the one at the far left representing HCC, AC@H in the middle, and Beta at the right. I figured it out, before your post, by the circular pictures, but I think it could be edited for less confusion. I think HCC does deserve its own color, grey is fine. AC@H and Beta should have another color, maybe red.

Just a suggestion though. smile

Re: expected completion dates

downtowndan, the buttons you see correspond, as you figured, to the project symbols in the order ACAH, HCC, BETA. For me, the creator of the charts, if I hit a button it jumps me to the relevant project research website. I just publish the image since the html would not work in the place they are. The font color was a software restriction. The new version fixed that so they'll be getting the "Inactive" color tag in the near future.

Thanks for the suggestions.
