Badge Ranking

I am thinking about suggesting to members of my team (who mainly run other BOINC projects) that they keep up to date with badges in the WCG. It doesn't take a big commitment and I'm hoping a lot of them will want to (and possibly stick around).

I would like to be able to point to a page where it showed all of the team members sorted by the number of badges that they have, but I haven't found it.

Is there such a stats page?

Re: Badge Ranking

Hello enels,
No. Teams is an add-on and Badges is a more recent add-on. You can suggest how you think it would be best to reorganize the Team page to add badges. I doubt we could get to it quickly but it could be an interesting addition to think about.

One problem is that individuals can earn their badges in different teams at different times. How would you deal with these situations?

Re: Badge Ranking

Possibly a additional link could be shown in the Team Member Details and Statistics page.
This link could show only the badges earned for each member of the team beside the team member's name.
It would not be team specific as to which team the badges were earned with, but would show a sort of ranking of badges within those team members.
Much like we can see a ranking of results returned, or Total time contributed etc.

Sounds like a good idea, and Interesting.
I love to look at the stats! Amazing numbers! biggrin

Re: Badge Ranking

Hi Lawrence,

What Ron said above. Adding 'Badges' to the members 'Sorted By:' options.

For me it could go either way when changing teams, keep the badges with the old team or transfer them.

Re: Badge Ranking

That's the thing, what was earned with a team, stays with a team.

Implementing team level project stats is difficult, since I doubt anything was in past maintained to split team contributions to projects. Probably it could be reconstructed if a individual member project history was maintained, coupled with the join/retire dates, but doubt that too exists. Just the cumulative per project and individual. Could be wrong though.

Viewing the badges per individual can be done on the member compare page:
