Just installed BOINC a few days ago.
Started working with it, with the feeling I'm doing something good for the world.... But....... the screen saver locks up sometimes (not allways!) and will not exit. I wouldn't like to have to delete BOINC, but I would like to be able to use my computer as before........ What should I do? |

You don't need to use the screensaver at all to contribute. Just select a different screensaver (or none).
But if you want to continue using it, then we will need some more information. What is your operating system? What version of BOINC? What project is running at the time it locks up? Thank you. |

Hi,
I also have been experiencing the same issue with the occasional screen saver lockup. I'm using Windows XP SP2, Boinc 6.2.28 and it just recently occurred on the Help Conquer Cancer 6.06 project. I plan on disabling the screen saver now until a resolution is found. Thanks! |

Very bad advise for the security concious: Set it to blank, with password. client 6.2.28 handles that well.

Didactylos did not touch on security specifically at the hardware access level as security goes without saying, except for you

What security software do you use? My first thought is that you have a conflict.
But before we can do anything else, we need to know your operating system and which version of BOINC you are using. |
