Update on Re-start. [Resolved]

Do we have any forecast as to when this is likely to re-start?

Cheers

Re: Update on Re-start.

We will either restart the project or get a formal update in the next week or so.

cool Re: Update on Re-start.

I am really interested in continuing with this project as well. I seem to have a hard time getting WUs for the projects I want so I only list those in the My Projects list but also say I will take any project.

Re: Update on Re-start.

We all are waiting patiently while the scientists in Galveston gets their infrastructure back up and running. Yes it would be nice to know when this project will be back up - we surely will find out when they finally start dedicating their time to this project.

Begging for a status update will not help get them moving faster. And the community advisers haven't posted anything which implies that they don't have anything to share to us. Keep in mind that a couple of earlier posts stated that the WCG team is still in touch with the DDDT scientists and will share news as soon as they get them.

Re: Update on Re-start.

I agree that we should be patient - things will take the time they take. However I do think that there is a bit of an information vaccum that could be solved if someone posted updates every other week or so. Doesnt need to be anything big, just a few words describing what has been done since the last post and what is expected to be done next. Shouldn't take much time from the people down in Galveston but would make a huge difference to everyone here!

Re: Update on Re-start.

Here's how things go ... saw some other news this morning about the government "studying" what to do about picking up the damage from Hurricane Ike, which has been sitting around in a lot of the small towns...

In the meantime, the scientists are doing what they can. As I understand, their lab came through, but there's a bunch of other infrastructure there. After all, 3000 people got laid off at UT Medical Branch when there wasn't anything for them to do. As soon as things get more back to normal, I'm sure that they, as much as anyone, would like to resume.

In other news, the shrimp fisherman would also like to resume in Galveston Bay. The newspapers pointed out that it was now full of "refrigerators and dead cows", so that makes fishing a lot more difficult, if not impossible.

The tech staff has been a bit involved in migrating the entire WCG data center to Toronto from Colorado.

DDD-T will probably be easy to resume from this end.
