lavaflow, it seems David_L6 has not returned any results this year, so he isn't speaking from personal experience.
The Clean Energy Project's teething troubles have been carefully explained by the techs, but they aren't severe or widespread enough to stop the project. Personally, I haven't noticed any errors in my own tasks. Of course, anyone still experiencing high levels of errors should opt out of this project until the problems are resolved. |

lavaflow, it seems David_L6 has not returned any results this year, so he isn't speaking from personal experience. Get your facts straight Didactylos. I show 97 energy project results returned. No telling how many more that resulted in errors........ I am speaking from experience! Now what about all those threads about all the problems with the energy project? You "forgot" to say anything to lavaflow about those. ![]() |

I'm sorry - I meant up to date experience.
----------------------------------------*** Teething problems happen. We get past them. Beta testing can't uncover all the potential problems, particularly in this case, when most of the problems are caused by the data in the work units, rather than the software itself. **Edited to include only comments regarding project** TKH [Edit 1 times, last edit by TKH at Jan 12, 2009 1:20:23 PM] |

Now that is stamina on your P3
. Two jobs exceeding 14 days for one bronze CEP badge. Valid or invalid, the time I understand is fully credited. Don't know about the rest in your task buffer whether the predicted run times are accurate after such monsters. |

My good old Pentium III-server has been working on these WUs for a while... ![]() Impressive ! I guess this CEP WU's are the longests until now at least that I saw among the forums. And congratulations for your patience to keep it running for so long time ! ![]()

I meant up to date experience. It's funny - I recall you had the same adverse reaction when Nutritious Rice for the World launched. I don't need up to date experience when I can come to this forum and read that others are still having problems with the project. What's funny? Problems with a project is funny? Someone reporting problems with a project is funny? I don't see anything funny about wasting resources. Muckebadscher said: "I will stop working on this project until this problem is fixed." I told him that would be the smart thing to do since this project still has problems. You said: "Of course, anyone still experiencing high levels of errors should opt out of this project until the problems are resolved." Same thing, huh? You didn't even need to say that since he'd already said that he was opting out. Instead you chose to flame me. **Edited to include only comments about project** TKH ![]() [Edit 2 times, last edit by TKH at Jan 12, 2009 1:23:31 PM] |

Dosen't matter if valid or not. What is important is that will count for your statistics anyway in one or other status (according I saw and felt personally with my invalids here). Remember that any invalid could help technicians and scientists learn about something to better address issues and solve problems, and eventually fix it ! Off topic, anyway I'm one among many that defend the point of view that WCG team need change the invalid results treatment regarding points, credits, etc, and definitivelly to receive the same computation treatment of statistics related with valid results (maybe exception will need be address if the cause of invalidation will be problems in crunchers machines like Hw or Sw problems (it can happens)). My point is that we engage to crunch valid or invalid without choose (we don't know before what will be invalid), and crunch invalids for same time and effort spent compared with valid ones, so need have same treatment or similar. It my guess. ![]()
