Blew a power supply in that demon IBP machine today. Two very loud pops, that distinctive burning smell, and then smoke out of the PS fan. Scared the h3ll out of me. Lucky I had a 500W on the shelf and replaced it. The "fun" of this hobby just never ends. ![]() Well, the power supply on my IBP isn't quite gone, but the fan went out on it. Ordered a new PS and am not running it until it is swapped in. |

Well, the power supply on my IBP isn't quite gone, but the fan went out on it. Ordered a new PS and am not running it until it is swapped in. Sorry to hear that Dave. Mine went out with a BANG. I replaced it with a 500W Thermaltake. Wait until you take it out ... it weighs nothing ... wimpy. My new one weighed 4x the old one. It is working well now and cooler. There is a lot of room in that case and it was easy to replace.![]() |

There is a lot of room in that case and it was easy to replace.I was watching the temp on mine and noticed a sudden jump of 10 degrees. Was the PS fan. I am sure I would have had a bang sooner or later. Here is the PS I ordered -- probably overkill. |
