Can I install 2 or more devices in one PC?

I just want to let my PC crunch more efficiently. Even if one device was paused due to the probelm of agent server, the ohter devices can use the PC's resource. smile

Who would please to teach me whether I can do it? confused Thank you in advance... love struck

Hi dtype what you are looking for can be found in this thread

http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=970

It's called UDMonitor and it will allow you to download more than one work unit so you can have them queued up ready to crunch if the WCG servers were out of action for whatever reason.

Just a point to note. Don't download too many WU's as they expire if the results don't get back to the WCG within 3 weeks.

Take care

Dave

If your PC is powerful enough and it doesn't have overheating problems, you can safely raise the number of WUs to 5 at least. My P4 2.6 GHz notebook works at half speed ~half of the time, and I never went into trouble with 6 WUs (though I got a number of 100-hour WUs, fortunately at most one at a time in the WU set).

I have downloaded the software and managed to run it on my PC. However, I cannot find where I can set the number of WUs. Would any gentleman please to tell me? tongue

You need to add new slots in the "Cache" tab, and then use Send/Receive (F12 key). If this tab is not visible by default, make it by checking/unchecking several boxes in the settings.

(Sorry, I have to restart my PC to get UDMon back, so I can't give you a more precise description).

cool Re: Can I install 2 or more devices in one PC?

There is a long-running thread about UD Monitor over on grid.org at http://forum.grid.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?p=413423

Hope this helps.
