Re: Got "too late", why?

I imagine because it arrived after the deadline.

Don't worry too much - late work is often given credit later (although it may not be listed on the results page).

Re: Got "too late", why?

I'm regularly getting rush jobs with just 48 hours deadline or less, so it can.

Re: Got "too late", why?

Hey Didactylos,
in this case for this specific Beta test, the deadlines appear be very chalenge to me...

just to mention, I use a CPU Intel QX9770 extreme, and all of my Beta WU's came with a challenge deadline to completion, any one was completed at time by this monster machine... so I just think that for many other crunchers the challenge to run BETA's was much more hard than me in this case. Think that the deadline need be more flexible despite of be a Beta test (just an impression shared here).

GIBA, this is not the Beta forum. It's about a regular job.

Hi Sek,
It don't seem it was a rush job, because of the 0-- at the end of the jobname?! - E000024_ 386A_ 00033t00w_ 0--

Re: Got "too late", why?

Hi CP,

Thought so too initially, but if you look in the linked header it says it was originated on Dec.5

Project Name: The Clean Energy Project
Created: 5-12-08
Name: E000024_386A_00033t00w
Minimum Quorum: 2
Initial Replication: 2

How does a job with _0 suffix on an init 2 get an issue date of the 5th, but the result seemingly received on the 13th? Odd to me!

E000024_ 386A_ 00033t00w_ 0-- Too Late 12/13/08 04:27:15 12/15/08 13:10:45 28.28 246.9 / 0.0

Venture any guesses? Maybe it was the actual date it was loaded in the feeder, which is probable as when checking some of my older jobs received on the 7th were generated on that Dec.5.

Re: Got "too late", why?

CP, there is some confusion in this discussion between the creation date and the distribution date (or issue date).

Apparently all WUs which have been distributed until today have been created on Dec 5, probably by two different processes (at least) with different deadlines, 20 days for batches '1 to '9, and 7 days from batch '10 to <at least '37>.
That explains why we are still receiving WUs with a 7-day delay while knreed said on Dec 11 that the deadline will be changed to the standard 12 days.

It would be nice to know the number of the last batch with a 7-day deadline... sad

Cheers. Jean.
