I've got a WU on my Notebok, which has currently the following status:
Deadline: 18.12.2008 06:15:24 Runtime until now: 30:50:00 Percentage complete: 39,906% Time until complete: 32:45:22 I will leave the Notebook at home, and at 100% for WCG, and run my business with my BlackBerry... But I dought, that this WU will complete untill the deadline... Are the Scientists and Tech awere, that these deadlines are not reachable...??? Shall my work of maybee 55 hours be for nothing...??? I know, that there is effrot about a "standard" work load, but in case of these extremes, there must be an exception...!!! Cheers, Totto |

For that device to get a rush job, which I presume it is, WCG must have recorded it as regularly turning jobs around in 21 hours, which are more often than not 24/7 computers.
----------------------------------------You don't tell if this is a duo, but if it is, don't have it run in parallel to a FAAH or HPF2 job. With RICE or HCC on the side they go much faster due the paging issue. If you don't want rush jobs just increase your additional buffer to say 2.5 days or so, and you'll only get regular deadline jobs. For CEP that should change to 12 from 7. Given the current run time uncertainties would though recommend to attach your laptop to a profile that excludes CEP.

This device currently only runs CEP jobs, and is a dual core... How ever, giving such a job to a device, it should be possible to meat the deadline...!!!!
I described the facts, so please, give me a chance to get my "honor" for the efford, when I leave my notebook crunch @ 100%, while I use my BkackBerry for keeping in touch to all my E-Mails, while I am at work... ![]() |

Long as your results comes back before the make up job for the "no reply", which would be a waste, you're assured of credit for a valid job. If after the make up job it would get marked "too late".
----------------------------------------You commitment is admirable :D WCG would hate to be responsible for pushing you to do business by thumbing and cause you to incur TRSI, hence the few words how to avoid these problems.

With my little formulas I think your WU should need about 78 hours of runtime, which means it had still about 48 hours to run when you posted.
----------------------------------------That should make it complete before or soon after the deadline. And Boinc would report it immediately after uploading results if the internet connection is up. As Sekerob said, even if it happened to be reported soon after the deadline it will certainly be before any other repair job can return and you will be credited normally. If you can manage to have it run in parallel with a HCC job (or alone at the worst) you might see it progress much faster according to Sekerob. Cheers. Jean. |

I hope you're right guys, I would be really unhappy, if the work of more than 60 hrs. would be worthless... After 40 hrs. the job has now done 51%, and still needs 27:36 to complete.
...cause you to incur TRSI... What is TRSI...??? ![]() |

An ailment if you use a blackberry 24/7, RSI on the thumb.
----------------------------------------You can hope, whilst we know with reasonable accuracy :D
