I asked for more badges in a another thread and almost everybody there told me it is not a good idea, that it is a bad idea. That we are not crunching for the badges.
----------------------------------------I told them it will be a good rewarding idea for members but "Noooooo" ... "Why should we reward the members with more than 3 badges?" |

I told them it will be a good rewarding idea for members but "Noooooo" ... "Why should we reward the members with more than 3 badges?" Where have you read that? You may have felt some comments that way but I don't remember anybody saying it or even implying it. Some comments were even supporting this idea (which is not new and is actually somewhere in the list of possible improvements... later). One member said he is not crunching for badges and I think it is true. And there have been louder reactions when somebody suggested to withdraw from beta testing after reaching the Gold level to leave more beta WUs to those who have not got their badge yet. WCG is not against badges, otherwise they would not have introduced them recently. But what must be kept in mind is that badges are not the purpose of WCG, they are only a by-product. When there are problems with launching a new project, as for CEP now, I can understand that some people are upset with WUs in error, although it does not help solving these problems any faster, but complaining or even shouting because they cannot get their badge as fast as they anticipated is simply out of proportion. For beta testing it's even more pathetic. Beta WUs are not distributed to give as many members as possible a chance to get their beta badge, they are distributed for testing and the techs who distribute them have to analyze them later. So there will be beta WUs only when needed, and not more than needed. Maybe WCG should remove the beta badge to help make things clear, I don't know? Let's have fun with badges, but without forgetting what is really important. Jean. |

I want steak badges: T-bone New York Rib Eye Fillet Mignon ![]() See, I'd have a problem with that. I think a New York Strip is better than a Rib Eye. ![]() |

I have a suggestion: can we increase the requirements for future projects while retaining the original colors? Like instead of 15, 45, 90 days, make it like 50, 100, 200 for upcoming projects?
----------------------------------------This way, WCG can stay ahead with the computing powers of new hardware. :) ![]() |
