mine was near 4 MB It's quite big in size

Yes, they are large. Sekerob is still gathering statistics on exactly how large, on average.

Uploads are compressed, though. You see the uncompressed size.

just uploaded one that was 7.28mb and took 30h on a 3.0 quad core..ouch

Size matter, but without run time and cpu type there's no way to correlate, if at all possible, the output size and formulate an indication of what to expect. The range I've seen sofar is 4-11mb, the incoming file is 0.5mb. All uncompressed. BOINC 5.8 and up applying "gz" compacting before actual transmission.

In most I use BOINC 6.2.19 ver. But I can't see any size decrease.

The large ones will still need completing, which may take time. Check the deadline - if it is 7 days, then it should be shorter. Note that the time estimates may be completely wrong.
