Just like crashtiger already reported in the thread "Completion Times" I had a result with the same outcome:
<core_client_version>6.2.19</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <stderr_txt> Calling initGraphics() INFO: No state to restore. Start from the beginning. [ERROR] Failed to open either source or destination files while copying wcgrestart.rst to ../../projects/www.worldcommunitygrid.org/E000000_029A_00000000t_1_3. Error: 2 ####Message = NORMAL STOP called boinc_finish </stderr_txt> ]]> Runtime was 5h40m. Finished normal on my machine, so no error by boinc manager, but the runtime was compared with the beta's rather short. Is this really an error and if so, what does it mean? Still Pending Validation on the result page. Cheers |

CP,
----------------------------------------Of the 4-5 type A completed on my devices all had long run times and validated. Don't remember, nor trying, but what OS is this. Have you got for us the BOINC message log portion from around when the result finished. Helps to get a basic picture. cheers

Hello Sek, thanks for your quick response. The WCG-webserver is very slow this morning (UTC), so I will try to get my reply in (several retries now...)

Ah, see you deleted the extra copies... yes the forum does not work well this moment. Got a number of posts in that dont show in the reply list. getting that red line, just check in a second browser tab if it went through, then kill the original tab with the error message or page back twice and f5.
----------------------------------------Don't like that constant resuming at all. Is your client switching tasks? Guess not from your footnote, so why is this happening... any OCing? It's a new process so i made double sure the AV etc would see the wcgrid_cep1_6.19_windows_intelx86 would be let thoroughly alone. Separately, I found PG very very intense on the CPU. During summer I had it TweakMastered to 50% per core to not have it run hot.

Thanks for the 2nd Tab-hint. This resuming and switching tasks happens while I was running SIMAP with a higher resource share and they had about 1hr runtime jobs.
I had LIM ticked on. AV can't be a problem, because it's not running ![]() No problems with overheating whilst running PG. I was sieving not llr-ing, what is less intensive. Temperatures between 40 and 44 degrees Celcius. Clockspeed 2100 in stead of standard 2000. Boinc running as a service. Any more hints from me? And don't tell me it's the 5% OC ![]() ![]() Cheers |

OK, I just tell you what I've done to optimize overall performance:
----------------------------------------Set the [And this is one of these pure dumber than dumb BOINC interface field labels] "Switch between applications between every" xx minutes" to e.g. 240 minutes. Why? BOINC is scheduling project switches at the first checkpoint after 60 minutes [assuming all you projects have even weight]. The more projects, the more you will have in LiM. By setting it to e.g. this 240 minutes, it just works off more short tasks, uses up it's daily weight and goes to sleep for the rest of the day with the least jobs in LiM. Theory. On OC: I would go back to base and set the cycles to stock and see what happens. Synchronicity (The Police), you can always pump up the rhythm again, but it would at least confirm if it causes a problem.

Hello All,
So this is my first post and i figured a worthwhile one. I also had an error out at the 1h45m mark of task:E000003_ 495A_ 00002b009_ 0-- on wcg it said that it was a valid result though getting 16.9/of 30.5 claimed credit. here is the log from wcg results: Result Log <core_client_version>5.10.20</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <stderr_txt> Calling initGraphics() INFO: No state to restore. If you and CP please have a look in the Result Status pages and click the work unit name to see the other quorum results. 16.9 smells like 50% of credit which is what is given for an invalid result... the interest is the outcome of the other results... short too of course?
