I notised that instead of completting 1 task in 8 hours, now it takes 9.

Correct and asof batch R00210 it will be 10 hours. The servers are suffering, so less reported jobs, with nmore work in them will improve the service. After the new hardware/database comes on line sometime later , maybe beginning 2009 the plan is to reduce the work lengths again.
