Hi,
----------------------------------------Tanpaku has nothing at all to do with WCG. You might try your luck at Berkeley that has an outage thread. http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=3056 and http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=3144 From past I know that communication between contributors there and the project owner is near impossible and read several times that they went off-line after network maintenance, but that's month ago by now but certainly when trying now I get: 13/11/2008 14:00:25|Project TANPAKU|Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. Requesting 0 seconds of work, reporting 0 completed tasks 13/11/2008 14:00:30|Project TANPAKU|Scheduler request failed: HTTP file not found Feel free though to share your free computer time with WCG ... "we" are always on line cheers

That's a list maintained by Berkeley, where the BOINC software comes from. Another pain over which WCG has no control and would not want as it's there to make it convenient for members to hook up to other "established" projects.
----------------------------------------Suggest to visit the forum where I provided the link to. It's been discussed there before what goes in, what's missing, what should be added etc and how it should update. Anyway, read that the scientist mailed briefly that their server is broken and should come back, but when, non lo so.

There are even more BOINC projects that are not in the Berkeley list at all. I have found many of them by googling for "Boinc projects".
----------------------------------------Another major list is http://distributedcomputing.info/ The Anandtech list is also very good http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.aspx?catid=39&threadid=1818634 The BOINC statistics counters also have project lists. Here is one. http://boinc.mundayweb.com/ There are more lists. That is just a sample. Many of the smaller projects come and go, as you have found with TANPAKU, so it is a continual effort and the lists are not all identical. World Community Grid is likely represented on all of them. We're (WCG is) still here.

Thanks retsof and Sekerob.
You are a great help for my needs. What about this. I jouned sucessfully som 25 projects, but only a handful are being run. See below! Some week ago I had 3-5 tasks running sequentielly. Now I suddenly only have only climateprediction as running task. And all others have communication deferred. Internet is working fine, and I have 2,5GB free diskspace. Are the projects celaning up diskspace after sending results, or I have to manually cehck it? /Bengt, Seoul Korea Project Points Generated Results Returned Total Run Time (y:d:h:m:s) Badges Earned Discovering Dengue Drugs - Together 84 1 0:000:03:28:11 FightAIDS@Home 6,520 10 0:015:15:14:11 Help Conquer Cancer 1,114 2 0:002:09:49:39 Human Proteome Folding 2 5,182 14 0:011:12:01:48 Nutritious Rice for the World 694 3 0:001:00:09:20 |
