use NAS devices for computing

Hi, as more and more people are installing NAS devices at home, I think it might be a good idea to NIC version for the largest manufacturers NAS devices.

THe devices are powered on 24x7 so it is a significant amount of compute power available

Re: use NAS devices for computing

Is it this http://ask-leo.com/whats_nas_how_do_i_go_about_setting_one_up.html you're talking about? I got one attached to my router, accessed wireless, a real dumb A shared HD. Seen a few mentions before, but doubt there even exists a client for it, let alone any project that has a science application that makes use of it but I could be wrong.
