Taking a long time to report the work units ("ready to report") and long time to validate them

Hi, im having a long time of having taks at 100% and "ready to report" , and, also a long time to validate them (credit not yet given, "pending validation").

Its kind of discouraging to have the computer work on units just to have such a long time to report them as done and to validate them for credit.

Any information on this, esp. , even if its a known thing, how long does it take to get fixed?

Re: Taking a long time to report the work units ("ready to report") and long time to validate them

Hi,

We crunch for the results and the credits are to show the contribution. There are reasons like quorum and managing to reduce server load which is substantial if a quarter million tasks are send out daily and same amount received back.

For read up, visit our Start Here FAQ index, link in my sig.

"Ready To Report" will clear within 24 hours or as soon as new work is fetched, so that could be very soon, or a bit later.

Validation sometimes required a "second" or more verifying results. Why that is, well we're dealing with say mission critical data and we want that data to be 100%. Some return work quick and the verification cruncher takes a week or longer, which iswhy there are deadlines, which are 12 days for most WCG projects.

Eventually you get in the flow and you'll be seeing days where you get a few results hanging in pending and the next day the pending being validated and the current returned work validated immediately giving 1 day with multiple day credits. I've always got 1.5 pages in Pending Validation meaning that on average i get as much validated on an average days at that is send back. That's fine as I know WCG never misses a beat giving credit for all the good work.

cheers
