How to specify processor usage from 21:00 to next day 09:00

Hi,

I know we can configure when the BOINC agent to start its work at an interval, it only allows to specify the start time and stop time. If the interval is across a midnight, then does the agent support this setting?

For example, my computer is free from 21:00 to next day 09:00, now I can only enter 00:00-09:00

Please kindly share your experience with me wink .

Thanks,
Raymond

Hi Raymond!
You are allowed to enter your working period as 21:00-09:00. Have you tried it?

Cheers. Jean.

Hi,

Here's a FAQ http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=20741
with a sample scenario for networking that starts 18:00 in the evening and ends 7 am next day. Same rules apply for computing.

cheers

yes, excellent. But if I have more than 1 time interval that my PC can be allocated to BONCI client? Then what values should I specify for a day?

For example, from 09:00 to 12:00 and 16:00 to 18:00, is it possible
to do it?

Thanks,
Raymond

No, multiple time-segments per day is not possible.

What are these intervals: Times the device is on, not used? Describe what U want to achieve from a User and from a Crunching perspective. You can program BOINC to go to sleep X minutes after stop of use so it can do a auto-standby of the computer (if the hardware has that ability).
