Not at all for me. So it looks like it is a problem with your installation, or at least in your area or with your ISP.

Edit: It is not only "not at all for me", it is "not at all - period": in fact WCG has established a new daily record by points on that day, after the previous one just on the day before! Cheers. Working now! I could not DL new work for about 24 hours! Weird! Thanks anyway!

An occasional boot does wonders, as does for instance hitting the "do network communication" (the new 6.2 descriptor) on the BOINC Manager's Advanced menu and more tips and tricks found in a FAQ:
