Is this why I got an "Inconclusive" status on Results Status?
(Please keep it simple, I'm no programmer). I clicked on the link to BOINC Q&A's, and what I think I understand is that sometimes shutting down a machine without exiting BOINC might cause a problem. I use Windows XP, not Vista. Before I allow my machine to run for 3 days for a WU, I'd like to make sure I can do something to avoid this problem. |

Tom,
The short answer is No. Inconclusive means results were sent to server, ran through validation process and was unable to reach a valid state. Most likely another job was sent out to crunch what your computer crunched. When that result comes in the inconclusive state should be changed to valid or invalid. So all you can do is wait. A CA can point you to more details - probably a pointer to the correct FAQ (Or Q&A). |

No pointer needed if one visits the FAQ index in the Start Here forum. That was the purpose, but I realize that not everyone is able to find the index either, so it sits in my sig of 10,000+ posts around these fora, items 1S and 1T, long as no new topics get inserted before ;>)
