The captain of my team retired. Can anybody of the team take over this role? How can this be executed?

Yes. After a team captain retires, anyone can take the role (there is a button on the team page visible to signed in team members).
Since anyone can take over, you should try to fill the vacancy quickly. |

I had a closer look: the captain did not retire, he isn't active since 3 years and has not opted-in to receive E-mails from members of the team.
Any posibilities to bring somebody more encouraged in this role? |
