BOINC Client Configuration Wiki has the solution for my problem, that BOINC almost completely takes over at boot time, causing a 5 - 7 minutes delay before I can get to work.
" <start_delay> Specify a number of seconds to delay running applications after client startup. Image:list-add.pngNew in 6.1.6 ". Currently I am on Client release 5.10.45 . Where can I download 6.1.6 ? Greetinx, Nico. |

6.1.6 is an alpha developers release. WCG is working on packaging and customizing 6.2. Since there are still bugs around in 6.2 it could be a wee while away. You could try 6.2.19, the latest from Berkeley, but as said it wont be the one that WCG is going to release: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download.php
----------------------------------------If on Vista, you can set to run BOINC as service and instruct that to start with delay. We have an FAQ in the Start Here forum for this: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=21661 And, I've tested the new 6.2 config parm. Works exactly as intended.

And, I've tested the new 6.2 config parm. Works exactly as intended. I agree. Succesfully installed 6.2 and updated the config file withe the delay parameter. After booting, the BOINC Client remains 5 minutes in a status "computing suspended". |
