Re: Allow Us To Set CPU usage percentage under options

Just joined up and checking the various threads ... glad that I did! I've installed the client/agent on a personal desktop (Intel 2.6Ghz, 2GB RAM, Win2k3 - Domino6 server and Client, IIS, SQL Server2000 and other apps running the background) - checked taskmanager and CPU cycles are at 100%. Admittedly, it's not yet straining my system or its resources but I'd like to have the ability to control what the WCG client does at my end of teh equation.

Free, IMHO, doesn't automatically infer programme control over my system. Unless this issue is addressed I'll most seriously consider uninstalling and leaving the GRID until such personal controls on the client side are implemented.

cool Re: Allow Us To Set CPU usage percentage under options

Here is a recent thread about ThreadMaster: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=2200

I had better repeat the usual caution. ThreadMaster should not be used in place of a hardware repair if something has failed in a computer's cooling system.
