monthly report would make us happy and crunch more harder ![]() just wondering ![]() Think on this like building a house. At first it seems to go oh so slow. The clearing of the property. The digging and then the pouring of the foundation. Then it seems to spring to life as the framing starts. Drive by a week later and your amazed at the progress. This is how I see the work we do. We're building a foundation of data to allow these people to find the facts they need to "build the house" and find the cures. It will happen but first we need to make that strong foundation for them. It will take time and won't be easy. We need to be the stuborn SOB's that stay with this no matter what the timeframe turns into. I don't know if you have children. I have 2 daughters aged 20 and 32. I think at this point of my life the greatest legacy I can bestow on to them and everyone's children is this work to make their lives and the lives of their children better and healthier. I have an expression that I use when I do my sales pitch for this project: "If not us who, if not now when?" We are the people and this is the time. The technological advances in computing power just in the last three years allow us as individuals to bring to this type of work incredibly powerfull machines and combined we have the computing power to get the job done. Thanks for reading. ![]() |

Dear Movieman,
Thank you for the excellent analogy! The "Relaxed Complex" experiments that we are now running on FightAIDS@Home take much, much longer to perform than the previous type of experiments. After each experiment is finished, it takes days to weeks to process the results. After sorting the processed results in different ways, we can then begin to analyze the results (in terms of Free Energies of Binding and binding modes). "Volume 5" on http://fightaidsathome.scripps.edu/ describes one of the papers about FightAIDS@Home results that has already been published and shared with the public. After I finish analyzing some recent results to find the best way to present them, I'll start writing a new paper about "Experiment 19" on the "Nine False Negatives." See http://fightaidsathome.scripps.edu/status As a sneak preview, I'll let you all know that Experiment 19 was very successful. In a few weeks, we'll write a new "volume" of our newsletter. Please stay tuned. Thank you very much for your patience and for your help, Dr. Alex L. Perryman |
