Temporary FAAH/DDDT/HCC1 project slow down

We are experiencing a problem with one set of our raid disk drives. As a result, we need to temporarily slow down or stop some projects. The Fight AIDS project will be paused first. Thanks for your patience.

Re: Temporary FAAH project slow down

One of the uses of the storage that we are currently working on (see Viktors post above) is that it is the staging area for new workunits for FightAIDS@Home, Help Conquer Cancer and Discovering Dengue Drugs - Together. Until we can get this storage back online (the disks are currently re-syncing and being scanned - unfortunately this could take over 12 hours), we cannot load in new work for those projects.

At this time, FightAIDS@Home and Help Conquer Cancer have sent out all the workunits that had been loaded into the grid. Discovering Dengue Drugs - Together will reach that point in the next couple of hours.

We are still able to load work for Human Proteome Folding - Phase II and Nutritious Rice for the World so we will keep plenty of work loaded for those projects.

We appreciate your patience and we are doing what we can to get the work flowing for all projects as quickly as possible.

Re: Temporary FAAH project slow down

The resync is going well at the moment. It is taking some time as we do have a lot of storage for the projects. This is needed to make sure we do not destroy any information when the storage is brought back online.

Thank you again for your patience and contributions toward the grid

Re: Temporary FAAH project slow down

The resync finished about 6 hours ago, now we are running fsck. This also takes a long time to run.

Re: Temporary FAAH project slow down

The disk check (fsck) is still running and is likely to take considerably more time. This is a very large partition of almost 2 terabytes. Thank you for your patience.

Re: Temporary FAAH project slow down

The disk check is still running. However, we are building a temporary work-around and will have FightAIDS batches available to run very soon. The Help Conquer Cancer project work is also temporarily paused. We hope to have batches for this project running again later today. The Dengue Fever project is stopped until the the researchers recover from hurricane Ike. Thank you for your continued patience.

Re: Temporary FAAH project slow down

Work should still be available for all of the projects (except DDDT) even thought the disk scan (fsck) is still running. Thanks for your continued patience.

Re: Temporary FAAH project slow down

The diisk scan is finally finished and it looks like the data is ok. Of course it will take us some time to check everything and get back to steady operation. Thanks again for your patience.

Re: Temporary FAAH project slow down

I have started to look at the data for Discovering Dengue Drugs - Together to get some work units back in the pipeline for this project. Thank you again for your patience and hopefully we can get some work in the next hour for everyone participating in DDDT.
