Re: When it say " ready to report"

GP,

Nothing you've got to do. I'm sure you've got another job in progress and as soon as BOINC calculates that your computer is ready to fetch a new job before the present finishes will the line clear. The "Ready To Report" effectively means that the result was already successfully uploaded.

cheers

Do you have DSL or Cable or dial up? Either way you can just let nature take it's course, or you force it by going into the Projects tab, highlight World Community Grid then click the Update button on the left. If you have dial up, obviously you have to wait till you're connected, & eventually it'll do it on it's own.

But if you ignore it, eventually it'll do it on it's own. skull

Re: When it say " ready to report"

Hello Grandma Pachi,
The question everybody asks! Explained in http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=16783

After you return a result to the server, your client will eventually report to the Scheduler. This is a low-priority report that will cause a long slow database update, so the client waits, hoping to send back several reports at the same time.

Re: When it say " ready to report"

so the client waits, hoping to send back several reports at the same time.

My understanding is that the server also has to update member data in the database when it sends you a new WU, so waiting for a request for new work to report a completed WU is already saving access time by joining two updates in the same database transaction, even if there is only one WU to report.

Cheers. Jean.
