My Feelings towards Recruiting New Members

smile Hi everyone
I have another story being published by a prominent Tech Site in the very near future and my hope is that it brings in another 3000 + members

Without wishing to sound selfish, I dearly hope My Online Team benefits a little more from all my hard work, as it took 3 days to compile the information to motivate the BBC to publish the article

That story brought in in excess of 3000+ members to the World Community Grid and we got 40 of them which I must admit, I was very disapointed about considering Slashdot ran an article and got 3000+ Slashdot members to join the World Community Grid
They all joined Slashdot team and look where they are now!

I am obviously team motivated as well as World CommunityGrid motivated and you can probably understand that my reasons are two fold
#1 to bring in as many new members to the World Community Grid as possible
#2 To attract as many of these new members as possible to My Online Team
These are my reasons for bombarding news sites with info regarding the World Community Grid

It is of course a members choice which team he chooses to join, although my efforts are directed towards getting our fair share of the new members due to the fact that it was my efforts that brought them to the World Community Grid in the first place

I represent the WCG in a voluntary capacity as a Community Admin in an effort to help new members with their problems

#1 I have found and posted a good number of articles regarding Protein Folding to help to give the members here a better understanding of what they are acomplishing by contributing to this humanitarian effort

#2 I run the Riddle Thread, and the Joke Thread

#3 I found all the Animated Smileys for the members and posted them to the the Smileys Thread, to enable the members to dress up their messages and make them more fun

#4 I found and posted all the Animated National Flags to enable the members to better represent their Countries

#5 I make most of the Signature Banners for the team members, to allow them to represent which team they are on

#6 I make and post all the World Community Grid event Banners

#7 I root out articles that members may find benefiicial regarding viruses, and spyware, back up software and free internet telephony
software etc, etc

#8 Just take a look at the hard work Billy Bob of My Online Team does for the community considering the fact that he donates wcg.cc at his own expense in hosting, Banners, Flags, Smileys and Animated emoticons for the benefit of all the community here

#9 I am constantly in contact with Dave Bell, another Community Admin and a member of My Online Team who also donates a great deal of his time to helping the new members
He also spends a lot of his time communicating with the WCG in an effort to get your suggestions implimented to improve the members experience here
Considering his medical condition he does an absolutely fantastic job

I hope this helps all the members here to understand my feelings towards wanting to get my fair share of members onto My Online Team considering how hard I and my team mates work towards achieving these goals

In any event I will be here to help to improve the WCG experience for all the members whatever team they choose to join

Re: My Feelings towards Recruiting New Members

As a Team Captain myself. I see no conflict of interest from your efforts to promote WCG and plugging myonline team as a possible choice of teams for them.

This gives us all incentive to bring new members onto WCG and maybe have them join our respective teams.

Also thankyou for the flag site.

Hi bruce boytler

thinking I agree with you 100%! thinking
I see it as a win win whatever Team gets to benefit from
Grahams efforts. dancing
We ALL are the TEAM if you hold that the Teams are all made up
of WorldCommunityGrid.org Members. We are all Crunchers.
In that vein I would like to offer that the site hosting the
Graphics is for All the Members. Not just the Admins, Team Capt's
or My Online Team. nerd

WCG.CC is for ALL Members to use. hugs
You can have a Team Page and Member Banners. Submit Smileys, shortened URLs to your Team pages: ie. mots.wcg.cc or mot.wcg.cc
and Other stuff not done as yet.

After 5mos of this I might have made this more clear, sorry ALL. crying

Feel free to ask for anything you feel will help the "Grid"!
Email me Here or start a Chat Room Thread and get us all involved!

And Thanks for the Kind Words Graham. blushing
