"Your action has resulted in an error."

Could anyone let me know what the status of the servers is. EVERYTIME I try and access my team scores I get this message :

"Error
* The application is unavailable at this time, please try again later.
Your action has resulted in an error."

I am following the link from my team page under the heading "Team Member Details and Statistics". Every single time I've tried to retrieve these statistics I get the above error message. This has been going on for two months now regardless of the time of day I access the page.

Is this functionality not working right? If it's broken why is it still being offered on the web page as an option to view?

Or is there another web page I can find similar links to get this information?

Here is a specific link that fails for me every time :

Thanks for any help!

Hi ShakeBake,

I will have Nels look at this on Monday. Your team has over 6,500 members and I believe the request is timing out. But will have Nels get back to you.

Whoa, a Nelly moment (is she from Canada too?). Well your team is very big and thus it takes a long time to sort if you go for the points view e.g. I have the same for yours, but not my somewhat smaller team, so it probably needs work and given that this is a UD website legacy in the process of ripping and relinking and what not, it will probably be a bit until the conversion is complete.

I'll ask the techs if they can have a look and maybe freshen up the relevant index.

[edit: look at that, we just need to think about them and to have one pop up out of nowhere.... hi Tedi]

Re: "Your action has resulted in an error."

Awesome, thanks for the update guys.

Yeah, I guess 6500+ in the team would be a few records to go through.

Speaking from a programmer's point of view, any chance of limiting the query to the top 200 or so? Depending on the structure of the database tables I suppose this may or may not help much.

Thinking again on a systems level I guess it might be a web server time out, or a db time out. Extending either time limit may be detrimental to the web services if there's a lot of transactions involved.

I was hoping to keep track of my account stats within my team, but I feel your pain and this is by no means a priority.

Thanks again for replying back.

cheers

Thanks for being so understanding and patient. As pointed out this is almost certainly a DB time out. We are going to get updgraded hardware later this fall, and that should take care of this problem.
