Short deadlines for both workunits

I just got two FAAH work units and both are due on the 15th - 3 days away. I noticed that the work I got ended with zero, not two. A peek at both assignments on the status page shows something similar:

faah4298_ NSC45621_ a_ MIN_ xmd00340_ 02_ 0-- In Progress 08/12/2008 23:23:59 08/15/2008 19:01:07 0.00 0.0 / 0.0
faah4298_ NSC45621_ a_ MIN_ xmd00340_ 02_ 1-- In Progress 08/12/2008 23:13:54 08/15/2008 08:49:54 0.00 0.0 / 0.0

So what's the scoop? Draining the queue for single redundancy?

Re: Short deadlines for both workunits

No, this happened because some of the work units were indexed improperly, with the priority set too high. It shouldn't happen again - sorry for the short deadline; I hope you can finish them up by then.

Re: Short deadlines for both workunits

Hello, I think I have the same problem. I have faah5017_1hv1_4phv_00_3 running with a short deadline - 6 am 15th August (Friday morning). So far, 47 CPU time, 41% and 51 hours to completion. It is running at high priority. It is not going to complete.

Any way to change reporting deadline?

I have a P4 HT running at 3.2 Ghz with 2 Gigs memory. Two WCG tasks run at the same time. Full throttle. If I were to suspend one and refuse new work, would this speed up the processing of this file to perhaps meet the deadline? It seems an awful waste of work otherwise.

Many thanks,

Mark

Re: Short deadlines for both workunits

No problem Nelsoc. Both workunits were done within half a day.

Re: Short deadlines for both workunits

Mark,

Your work unit is actually part of a batch that were sent out with really long run times at the beginning of the month. I've made a note of your work unit. Please continue to run if you can and we will do the best we can to provide you with an appropriate amount of credit.
