what is the relationship between WU's and results?

When I look at the "MY GRID" tab on the WCG page, I get the following:

Averages:
Avg. Run Time Per Calendar Day (y:d:h:m:s) 0:000:02:17:13
Avg. Run Time Per Result (y:d:h:m:s) 0:000:04:09:21
Avg. Points Per Hour of Run Time 162.20
Avg. Points Per Calendar Day 370.97
Avg. Points Per Result 674.11
Avg. Results Per Calendar Day 0.55

I don't understand the relationship between WU & Results returned...

I would have anticipated a 1-1 match or close to it..

can someone shed some light on the topic please

TIA

---Barney

Re: what is the relationship between WU's and results?

You're in the wrong forum BBa. S&F is for improvements, Website support is for exactly that.

There is no relation other than to say that the shorter the run-times per task, the more results you have to show for, but same time, you probably been down/up loading more data so your ISP might be looking over your fair use contract (just kidding)

Conspirators will tell you that your PPH is too high.... OFL . My stock quad only does 140 crying .... LoL.

Re: what is the relationship between WU's and results?

Hello BarneyBadass,
Each WU is processed to produce 1 result. So it is a 1-1 relationship. What made you think differently?

cool Re: what is the relationship between WU's and results?

Lawrence, he's likely counting what's he's processed and does not see them all on his My Grid page. Difference, those awaiting validation which can be seen on the Result Status page of My Grid.

Anyone with a high throughput will have a hard time reconstructing as even when the statistics run, will the number change and viewing immediately after the update, will it not tally as it is not clear what time/date a unit validated.... 11:59:59 or 12:00:01.

There's the older request to mod the RS page to show through highlighting or other way of identification in the list, which of the results make up the current day statistics.

Re: what is the relationship between WU's and results?

A result is a WU which has been processed, returned and validated. Quite simple (in my opinion).

What are you finding strange? If it is the "Avg. Results Per Calendar Day 0.55" it is because you have started to run WCG intensively only recently. And when dividing your total number of results by the number of days since you joined (317 tonight) you get that figure. Not much useful for monitoring your current activity, I agree, but that's the way it is presently.

Cheers. Jean.
