Re: BOINC WRF 2.2 port

For verification they have to run a grid project I'd imagine. The data was confirmed in quorum 10 as was determined. AND this was run against historical set of climate/weather data, taking 2003 as reference. The purpose to verify that what came out, did correllate and did not represent GIGO. That's why a few jobs were rerun in the early stages as at first there was departure.

Anyway, the research is not finished, continuing in 2009 so who's going to give away data that is after further analysis may be junk?

Re: BOINC WRF 2.2 port

Hello

It's not talking only about AC@H. I ment all projects. And it's not about quorum number. Normal scientific practice with any result requires verification by the independent experts and, if needed, reproduction of the results. But it would be hard to achieve without software that calculated these results.

Re: BOINC WRF 2.2 port

Dmitrio, the WRF software is already public. Any scientist with a supercomputer can verify the results, without needing the BOINC-specific grid-enabling code.

Anyway, when studying simulation output, other scientists are going to be more interested in the model parameters. Simulations often involve random seeds, so duplicating the results is unnecessary and may be impossible.

Hi!

As I said previously "It's not talking only about AC@H. I ment all projects."

Dmitrio, all the science applications use well-known research software. Rosetta, AutoDock, CHARMM, WRF, SSEARCH and CrystalVision are all readily available to the scientific community.
